Interlocked

In this design, I focused on creating an interlocked pattern in which all motifs are on the same plane and are linked so that any change to one piece affects the others. There is no negative space present, no background. It was a very challenging pattern to print with no room for any shifts or mistakes; they were immediately noticeable. I used the printed yardages to re-upholster a set of old chairs. It was a great exercise in pattern design, working with 3-D objects and sewing.
